Make a Difference with Hope for Suffolk!

Do you want to be a part of a life-changing ministry? We would love to talk with you about opportunities! Our leadership team is dedicated to investing in the teenage participants of the program. We equip our team with training, support and lots of prayer.

Allies (AKA Mentors)

Allies work with our youth interns to provide encouragement, support and prayer during our weekly workshops. The relationship between an ally and their designated student-interns is transformational! Each ally is assigned to 2 interns with whom they will work for the entire season.

(Being an ally) has been one of the greatest privileges and blessings of my life. It gave me pause to realize our students have struggled and overcome incredible trials in their lives. I found myself looking forward to class and really sad when it ended.
Susan Quier

2013- 2015 Ally

My ally helped me to realize that I am capable of reaching goals, that I have worth in the eyes of God.
Jeraline Blount

2013 Graduate

(My ally) helped me gain confidence and overcome roadblocks to success.

Commitment

Allies commit to attending workshops with their participants on a weekly basis for the 7 months of the program (March – September)

Workshops Times

Thursdays from 6 to 8 PM, March 11 – September 30, 2021
Everyone will miss some workshops. As long as you can commit to attending most workshops, we would still love for you to be an ally!

Supervisors

Supervisors ensure that our youth have a safe, supportive environment. Supervisors monitor the youth rooms and farm areas and build relationships with our teenage interns.

Commitment

Volunteers can sign up for as many or as few workdays as they want, but ideally they would serve at least 2 times per month.

Workdays are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

  • School year: 3:15 to 6:15 PM (March – May, September – October)
  • Summer: 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM (June – August)

Meal Providers

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, we will not be having dinner together for March and April of 2021. We will tentatively begin dinners in May 2021.

Having a meal together provides a unique opportunity for relationships and connection between our interns and volunteers. Meal Providers bring and serve dinner to our crew of 60 people on Thursdays at 6 PM, right before our weekly workshops.

Commitment

Sign up for as many or as few Thursday dinners as you want. Deliver and serve dinner from 6 PM to 6:30 PM on the date you select. Great opportunity for your small group, neighborhood friends or whole family to volunteer together!

Want to serve but don’t have time to cook? Pizza or Subway sandwich platters always work.

Farm Volunteers

Volunteer farm hands work alongside our participants to do everything from weeding to harvesting to mulching. Working together provides a wonderful setting for transformational conversations that point people to Jesus. Work as much or as little as you are able!

Workdays are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

  • School year: 3:30 to 6 PM (March – May, September – October)
  • Summer: 9 to 11:30 AM (June – August)
